Outlook
Businesses remain optimistic about the future of their companies in Montgomery County. The 2001 Marvin & Company Business Climate Survey, which also covered other counties in the Capital District, showed that 64.1% of the businesses responding said that last year their business increased, and another 24.8% said it remained stable. Looking towards 2001, an overwhelming 62% stated they thought profits would increase, with another 31.7% indicating stability. These figures are more poignant taking into consideration that the same respondents saw other areas of the region as stagnant or struggling.
