One of several in the county, this country store in the charming town of Glen has crafts that reflect the talents and heritage of the area. You'll find lots to bring home including homemade jams, Mohawk Valley Amish handcrafts, pottery, soaps, and bulk spices. Make time to eat a hearty lunch.

The rural homestead of the Lipe family was once the site of a revolutionary fort and a frontier outpost overlooking the Mohawk River. Now housing the Fort Plain Museum, the Greek Revival home contains exhibits that span the history of the Mohawk Valley, and the museum offers special programs including lectures, encampments, and workshops.
Did you know? The Mohawk Turnpike, now called Route 5, was the principal road from Albany to the west and was known in Colonial times as the King's Highway
The Victorian Room at the Walter Elwood Museum in Amsterdam reflects the changes that occurred inside the Victorian home, particularly in the kitchen, which benefited from a variety of new labor-saving tools, many made in the Mohawk Valley.
Originally built in 1747 as a tavern for travelers on the King's Road, the Nellis Tavern celebrates the simplicity of Colonial architecture in the Mohawk Valley. Home of New York's only Annual Rhubarb Festival on the first Sunday in June.
